Shedeur Sanders still has ‘no idea’ where he’s going in 2025 NFL draft

Shedeur Sanders, projected first round 2025 NFL Draft quarterback

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders — one of the most talked-about prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft — says he still has “no idea” where he’s going to be playing in the NFL.

The son of NFL legend Deion Sanders time is now. Shedeur Sanders has waited his entire life for his moment, and he’s extremely confident that he’s about to turn one franchise into a perennial contender.

The Colorado QB has visited with five NFL teams now, four of which hold a pick within the top six in the 2025 draft. His top-30 visits include the Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants, Tennessee Titans and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

What are top 30 visits in the NFL?

Each NFL team is allowed to schedule visits with 30 players that have declared for the NFL draft. Between March 4th and April 16th teams can bring those players in for private meetings and workouts, in order to further evaluate whether they’re the right fit for the franchise or not.

Shedeur Sanders top 30 visits spark Intrigue

Only one team outside of the top six in the 2025 draft arranged a visit with Shedeur Sanders. While some believe he could slip out of the top 10, it seems extremely unlikely. Four teams with a pick in the top six have brought him in for a visit, but the quarterback still has no idea which franchise he’s about to have call his name.

The Cleveland Browns are in the drivers seat, and the Joe Flacco signing is a key indicator that they’re gearing up to develop a rookie QB. The Browns are clearly done with the Deshaun Watson experiment, and Flacco was a key contributor to Lamar Jackson’s development as a pro in Baltimore. Have they tipped their hand?

The New York Giants are right behind Cleveland with the third pick, and they too have signed veteran quarterbacks this off-season. Both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston now belong to the G-men, and you have to believe that quarterback room would be primed for a rookie addition.

Then there’s the Las Vegas Raiders, under new management with GM John Spytek, and of course the guidance of Tom Brady as a part-owner. Many believe Brady is calling the shots, and if that’s the case he would need to be a major advocate for Shedeur if the franchise is going to make a big move.

That leaves the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are all the way down at pick #21 in the draft’s first round. They could be a player for another quarterback prospect in the 2025 draft, especially the likes of Jalen Milroe or Jaxson Dart. That said, It’s interesting to see them use one of their visits for Shedeur Sanders.

If the Steelers are looking to draft the quarterback, they’d need to give up significant capital to come all the way up to a top three pick to get him. Which got me thinking, are the Pittsburgh Steelers about to make a major play?

Shedeur Sanders has ‘no idea’ where he’s going in the 2025 draft

While chatting on the Up & Adams podcast with Kay Adams, Shedeur gave nothing away. The popular host asked him directly if he knew where he was going yet ahead of the draft getting started, and Sanders gave a bold and seemingly honest answer.

“If I knew where I was going my house would be bought already. I have no idea”

While it would make a lot of sense for Sanders to land with one of the four teams he spent time with, they’re not the only options.

The New Orleans Saints may find themselves in a very tough spot going into the 2025 season if they don’t add a quarterback. Derek Carr is now contemplating shoulder surgery that would end his season before it even starts, and force the Saints into a nightmare scenario early on.

With the number nine pick, they’re close enough to the top three to make a move if they wanted to, and perhaps the Cleveland Browns would be willing to listen.
